Developer Fees

Pursuant to Government Code Section 65995 et. seq. and Education code Section 17620 et. seq., school districts are authorized to levy fees on new residential and commercial-industrial development to fund the school facilities necessary to accommodate the students from new development.


 

The Mt. Diablo Unified School District collects Developer Fees at the following rates effective September 29th, 2022:

Board Approved: September 28, 2022

 

Residential Development                                          $4.79 per square foot 

Commercial / Industrial Development                      $0.78 per square foot

Rental Self-Storage                                                      $0.16 per square foot

 


 

To pay Developer Fees:

1.   Pick up the Developer Fee Certificate/Form at the City or County, Building Department in which the property is located.

2.   Have the City or County Building Department complete and sign the section to identify the property building type and square footage. 

3.   In person, submit your  completed and signed certificate/form  to the Mt. Diablo Unified School District, Fiscal Services Office at 1936 Carlotta Dr., Concord, CA 94519 where you will pay the fees that are due. 

PLEASE NOTE: Credit Cards and debit cards are NOT accepted at this time.

4.   Developer fees can be paid during Fiscal Services hours of operation 8:30 am -4:30 pm   Exceptions are legal and board holidays when the District Office will be closed.  Please see the Dates of Operation on the Budget and Fiscal Services home page.  If you plan to pay your developer fees in the late afternoon allow at least one half hour prior to the end of  District Office hours of operation to complete the payment process.
