Why P.B.I.S.?

Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) has a three-tiered model of interventions address Academic Systems and Behavioral Systems.  The  MDUSD Equity Leadership, Equity Advisory and site leadership teams will review and analyze data regarding site and district suspension and expulsion rates, academic progress and attendance, specifically among students of color, and make recommendations to identify district “Bright Spots” including showcasing best practices of what schools are doing to make connections, create relevancy and implement restorative practices. What is monitored and measured, matters. There is a strong correlation between student engagement and lowered incidences of poor behavior .
