Anti Bias-Anti Racism Committee

ABAR meeting notice
The committee holds "Courageous Conversations" related to bias and racist practices in MDUSD.

A current priority for the group are to update the Vision and Mission of the group, along with ensuring the District's board policies are current and relevant.

The second priority is to develop a reporting sytem for staff and students to report incidents of bias and racism to ensure they are addressed. Members considered this from both the perspectives of the reporter and the receiver of the information and ways in which the District can respond to reported events.

All interested parents, staff and community members are encouraged to attend our future meetings.

  FOCAL SCHOLAR PLANsystemic review

To address inequities in the educational outcomes for Black/African American Students, Foster Youth and Homeless Youth, the District is working with California Collaborative for Educational Excellence.  Together, we conducted a Systemic Instructional Review, across 12 instructional components, designed to explore root causes for the student's lack of expected growth, along with specific steps to take to address this.

The District is making steady progress in implementing the plan and looks forward to sharing our results.
