Purchasing

MDUSD has specific standards for most technology purchases.

It is important that all employees understand the options before submitting a purchase requisition. It is always recommended that the district assigned technician for the site be keep in the loop on all potential technology purchases. In addition, please keep the Maintenance & Operations team in the loop on projects that may require facility upgrades, like proper electrical capacity for laptop carts or furniture for computer labs. Technology items must be purchased through the list of approved vendors on this page. As of the 2019-20 school year, most technology purchase requests will be submitted for board approval.

A note on Lead times

Due to COVID and increased global demands related to Distance Learning, lead times on device ordering are substantially longer than usual. Orders for laptops and Chromebooks may experience a 4-6 month delay. Orders of desktops and workstations may experience a 4-8 week delay.
